“Uniform System of Education Vital for Country’s Development”
Pakistan needs a uniform
system of education to produce movers and shakers who could speed up the
country’s pace of development. This was stated by Syed Asad Hussain Director SZABIST
Islamabad campus in an interview with National Urdu Daily “Pakistan” Dec 2,
2012.
He said that country can not
progress unless and until all short comings in the education system are
removed.
Mr.Hussain stressed upon the
need of making Urdu the official language. He lamented that at present the
scale to measure a student’s capability is his or her ability to speak English,
can no way be a reflection of a person’s competence.
The Director said that it is
unfortunate that the students coming from Urdu medium educational institutions
are not able to compete those coming from English medium owing to the English speaking
barrier.
Mr.Hussain further said that
he has come across some amazingly intelligent students whose real potential
could not be exploited because of the demand of communicative abilities in
English.
