Where jobs
are found free of nepotism, favoritism
ISLAMABAD:Dec
11, 2012. Hundreds of students, unemployed youngsters as well as employed
professionals landed at the “Job For All 2012” fair in order to explore avenues
of bright careers for themselves.
The
event was organized by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and
Technology (SZABIST) Islamabad campus where more than thirty national and
multi-national companies set up their kiosk to capture the talented and skilled
youngsters purely on merit.
The
event was open for all and students of different public and private
universities as well as ambitious youngsters had an equal opportunity to
directly interact with the hiring managers and submit their CVs.
Job
seekers having interest and experience in different fields including banking,
marketing, information technology, communication, medicine and engineering
participated in the fair.
The
event offered an atmosphere free of nepotism and favoritism where the fittest
could be picked for jobs best suited to them.
After
due evaluation, the companies selected several applicants and promised them
jobs while a large number of CVs were collected for consideration to offer suitable
jobs to the applicants at a later stage.
Highest
number of the CVs submitted was of those hold MBA degrees, but interesting many
of the applicants were offered jobs in domains other than business
administration as the hiring managers found the candidates suitable for
communication, community development and research and other jobs.
The
applicants also included a large number of females who evinced interest in the
field of teaching and banking.
The
hiring managers said they were pleased to interact with the diversely talented
youngsters.
Speaking
on the occasion director SZABIST Islamabad Campus Syed Asad Hussain said that Pakistan’s
progress depends upon a strong and vibrant economy and only the talented youth
can prove to be the real drivers of economic development.
Job
fair is an annual feature of SZABIST and the institute plans to hold more such
events in the coming months in order to facilitate the unemployed find jobs and
the employed find opportunities to excel.
